Autumn Equinox Altar

The Autumnal Equinox or Mabon ( after Queen Mab of the fairies ) marks a time when day and night
are of equal length .
It is also the festival of Harvest Thanksgiving, which has been celebrated in Celtic agricultural
communities for hundreds of years .

Painted Sticks

Stripped and painted twigs dropped on a surface and allowed to compose naturally

 

The sticks are garden prunings painted with colours left over on my palette after painting sessions .

Red Things on the Beach

At first glance I thought this was a motor cycle crash helmet but on closer inspection observed  it to be a car rear indicator unit . I love the way the sticks and stones nestle in the compartments with such fluidity .

This glowing red bottle is still filled with liquid .
Sea water I suspect !
