Grandmother's leather bound poetry books and once well used inkwell
in Art Nouveau style.
Just above yon sandy bar,
As the day goes fainter and dimmer,
Lone and lovely,a single star
Lights the air with dusky glimmer.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 - 1882) : American writer and educator.

ReplyDeleteThe art nouveau inkwell is superb! Makes me feel covetous - and then makes me want to search for a wooden inkwell stand that someone gave me many years ago. I must find it, I think, immediately! And those 4 curious bird like beings, so fine and resolute and I wonder what purpose they serve if any, or are they purely and deliberately decorative?
