  2. Fun to think of leaves as maps.
I do enjoy seeing handmade maps. My friend has made a couple of them for friends weddings and they are so charming. It takes a unique perspective to create a map.

    Wishing you a lovely day.

  14. Ruby, such a wonderful collection of images. Beauty can be found even in a simple leaf past its prime. I've alway enjoyed old maps, it's interesting how the world was viewed in the past. And to think that many anti-science people today view it as being flat. Thanks for sharing today and I hope that you will return again.

  21. I think this prompt must have filled your heart with joy, since it seems to be already filled with light bursting to brighten the worlds of those around you. I think the resemblance of a dying leaf to ancient maps was lying somewhere in my subconscious, but your wonderful photos brought that recognition to the forefront. Your last photo of the candle leaves a warm glow. Lovely post! Thank you!

  22. What an interesting comparison of the leaf to a map! I don't know if I would have seen that without the gentle nudge you provided to get my imagination going this morning. I guess it's time for another cup of coffee. ;) Yes, the longest darkest night of winter has passed and each new dawn the day grows longer. I'm ready for spring's arrival and for the cold to move away again. Thanks for sharing and please feel free to link up with me for not-so Wordless Wednesday, my friend!

  23. The second leaf pic does really look like a ridge of mountains, with lake and fields. And the actual Venetian map is superb, I enjoy old maps and this one is very special, with lots of frilly edges, makes the continents look very organic, even flower-like, art copying nature?
    M xx
