Faith and Trust

Celebrating the Divine Feminine  -  Day Five

Madonna del Parto (Pregnant Madonna)  by Piero della Francesca (1415-1492)

For me her expression just exudes faith and trust. This is the most beautiful image of Mary I've ever seen. I came across it while on an art tour of Tuscany in the early 1990s, shortly before it was moved to a purpose built museum. At the time the fresco was situated behind the altar of a small church in the hill town of Monterchi. I feel very fortunate to have seen it before restoration,in all it's faded glory.

Wishing you peace and joy !

Love - Key to the Universe

Celebrating the Divine Feminine  -  Day  Four

Love  -  The Key to the Universe

When I took this photo of a Christmas bauble a few weeks ago I had no idea when or how I would show it. Today is the perfect time !

On close inspection I'm amazed to see how closely the crackle effect resembles the veins of a biological heart.

And it absorbs and reflects the world around it .......

Wishing you peace and joy !

Grandmother's Longfellow

Grandmother's leather bound poetry books and once well used inkwell
in Art Nouveau style.

The Evening Star (first verse)

Just above yon sandy bar,
As the day goes fainter and dimmer,
Lone and lovely,a single star
Lights the air with dusky glimmer.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 - 1882)  :  American writer and educator.

Energy Waves

Wave forms on stone found on a beach echo those in the sea.

I've enhanced the colours on the stones slightly to emphasize the patterns.
