Morning Feast

This morning, while looking for something to complete this post, I spotted a grey squirrel feasting
on rose hips at the foot of the garden. So intent was it on eating that it didn't notice as I gently opened a window and leaned out.

The hips are now beginning to decay but this probably makes them even more delicious!

Maple leaves collected while walking in a community woodland

Maples are not native to Scotland and are usually found in small plantations and arboretums

Thank you for visiting ........ have a wonderful week!

  6. Your furry friends is just too cute. I had squirrels who would eat Passion flower and Hibiscus blooms. I'm sure they find rose hips to be delicious. Such a colorful post celebrating Autumn with maple leaves -- what a treat!

  12. From the land of the maple leaf, a very pretty collage using the collected leaves Ruby. I've not seen our squirrels eat rose hips but maybe that's because there are so many apples around. Your squirrel is going to pretty healthy with all the vitamin C.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

  13. Your leaves are so much further along than those in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. Beautiful colors! And we too have two squirrels that we have taken to feeding and we delight in watching their intensity of dining pleasures!

  16. Our temperatures here in the desert southwest in the U.S. are still very warm......no turning leaves for us yet! I loved your photos so much. They are just beautiful and they serve to remind me that we will be having cooler weather here soon just like you. I will just have to be patient!

  17. Hi,Ruby.
Your red leaves are so pretty. The bright leaves remind me of a poem 'Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower...Albert Camus. I have just learned this poem in my English text.
