It's been very windy for the past two days and although many trees still retain green foliage, every leaf which was not firmly attached has been scattered around the neighbourhood.
I was surprised to see such a variety piled up in our garden .......
Horse chestnut,sweet chestnut,sycamore,oak,lime,maple,cherry,rowan,elm,willow .......
These, I brought indoors
Gold, rich brown and russet rhododendron leaves
Rhododendrons in spring - something to look forward to!
Thank you for visiting

You sure can put together nature's offerings and your own to create a wonderful mosaic. I was delighted to see a couple of little pink petals in the one photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
Hi Ruby, you have an eye for the beauty of nature. I love all of these photos you've taken of the leaves in your garden and your rhododendrons from spring are gorgeous. Lovely collages also and that last one of the flickering candle is so neat. Thanks for sharing them my friend and I hope your week is a great one.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful display and it goes to show that sometimes you do need to look at them close up instead of seeing the task of getting them raked up and put in the refuse barrel. A good reminder today!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. I love what you do with the simplest things. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteHi these are wonderful photos of leaves, I have to say it has been very hard for driving these past few days with the wind so strong.
ReplyDeleteSad but beautiful !

ReplyDeleteFall leaf colors are the perk of the season, they are just beginning to change here, it is magical for a while. It's great if you can find decorative uses for them. Maybe I will try drying some.
Very pretty. I love photos like this - leaves in their natural state. Enjoyed your mosaic.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of your autumn...
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ruby,
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is very beautiful in that combination of the leaves, the candle the statue and your work. Here in my town, autumn leaves will be peak in the end of November.
Have a good week!
Dear Ruby - Leaves seem to know when to drift from a twig to fall to the ground; some cling tightly even in the storms. There’s something sad but beautiful about fallen leaves, which will get muted in colors and crumble to become part of the earth to sustain the cycle of life. The mosaic looks symbolical.

Wonderful set of images. Beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteI feel a pile of fallen leaves to be warm. It's because they are warm colors and they make me feel comfort that they accomplished their work during summer. And actually some worms are staying under those leaves. So the lamp mix well at leaves. The mosaic is nice representation.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
when I was younger I collected beautiful leafs in fall and had them as decoration in a bowl during winter months. :)
ReplyDeleteI do love the leaves when they are freshly fallen but I love the thought that spring will come again...eventually. Thanks for that rhodo photo. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ruby! You are so talented ... Where others might see dead leaves, you see and show us works of art. I love this post. Beautifully arranged mosaics as well. My daughter has that same garden statue, inherited from my son in laws grandmother, he said she had it in her garden as long as he could remember, but he didn't know anything else about it.
ReplyDeleteYou manage to make these dead leaves look so alive! Yes it's true, many leaves have fallen recently. Your collage is superb!
